​Percussion - most pieces are generously scored for percussion, but pieces do not need *all* the percussion parts to be successfully performed. If in doubt just get in touch!

CHRISTMAS MUSIC
Gesu Bambino (*brass band)
A delicate arrangement of this beautiful Italian Christmas carol composed by Pietro Yon. The melody and lyrics of the chorus are derived from "Adeste Fideles" (O Come All Ye Faithful), with an original flowing melody passed around the sections in the verses. 3’48” £30

Up on the Housetop (*brass band/junior brass band)
This fun arrangement for Brass Band tells the story of Santa landing on the roof with his reindeer and delivering his goodies on Christmas Eve. It is aimed at youth and training bands, and is flexibly scored with four main parts (A-D) plus percussion. Once these are suitably covered, the optional parts can be added to suit the playing forces available. Note - several percussion parts are written, but the piece can be performed without, brass players can simply make a noise stamping their feet or drumming their legs at the crucial point! 2’08” £30

Fun and straightforward to play, this piece opens with solo tambourine and soprano cornet, and has a little bit for everyone to do! Suitable for Youth bands upwards, a great filler for your Christmas concert. 2'10’approx. £30

​CONCERT MUSIC
Inspirit (*brass band)
Inspirit – to enliven, encourage, to fill with vigour – aims to be melodic, uplifting and catchy, and to allow the band to demonstrate not just the “traditional” march style that everyone thinks of when they hear “brass band”, but also the warmth and lyrical sound of a band playing a pretty tune with rich harmonies. There is something for every section to do - the percussion section features throughout, and the euphonium and cornet have a chance to show off towards the end of the piece. 3’30”. £30

Inspirit also has a simplified youth band version, designed to allow more confident players to stretch their wings without intimidating the less experienced players. Both versions can be played on their own, or they can be played together - great for a massed item to close your shared junior/senior band concert!

Forres Cradle Song (*brass band)
A gorgeous arrangement of James Scott Skinner’s most famous violin air, featuring the euphonium to open and close the piece (but scored so that you can feature your flugelhorn or cornet player instead if you want to ring the changes). Parts are carefully cued to allow the piece to be played with reduced numbers. 5’20” approx. £30

Mongolian Folk Tune (as featured by Boobs and Brass on their CD “Boobs & Brass and Friends”) (*brass band) (***wind band)
A pretty arrangement of "Four Seasons of the Steppe" – the tune which Mongolians regard as their national tune. Features the euphoniums in the opening section. 3'30" approx. £30

Gabriella's Song from "As It Is in Heaven" (*brass band) (***wind band)
An uplifting arrangement of Stefan Nilsson's melody from the film "As It Is in Heaven". Opens with a horn melody and gradually builds to a full band sound. Fun for the glockenspiel player too! 3'30" approx.

Brazilian Festival (**brass ensemble)
Winning entry in the Brass Band Summer School 2009 Composition Competition. Features a simple slow melody opening, followed by a fast Latin-themed closing section with solo opportunities for various instruments. Soon to be available for full band. 3’30” £30

Meditation from Thais (as featured on Owen Farr's CD "A New Dawn")
(Solo for Eb Tenor horn with (optional) Vibraphone and *Brass Band or ***Wind Band accompaniment)
An arrangement of Jules Massenet's famous Meditation, for solo horn and vibraphone - more of a duet, in fact. Vibes open the piece and accompany the soloist throughout, with a tasteful smattering of band accompaniment as the piece progresses. Vibraphone part is cued throughout so the piece can be played by bands without a vibraphone player. 4'30" approx. £30

The Coola Shore (My Love's an Arbutus)
(Bb or Eb solo with piano)
Solo for Bb or Eb instrument with piano accompaniment. (Arrangement for flugel horn and brass band in the pipeline.)
Theme and two variations on an Traditional Irish air. The melody originates in County Cavan, Ireland, with the words “I Rise in the Morning With My Heart Full of Woe” – a sorry tale of unrequited love – and it was also used by Sir Charles Villiers Stanford in 1882, as the setting for “My Love’s an Arbutus” by Alfred Perceval Graves.
Opens with a simple statement of the tune, proceeds to a lyrical section and closes with a short scherzo, effective but under the fingers! 2'50" £9.95

Two Stars (duet - flexible instrumentation)
Variations on Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, great fun for young players (although not beginners), and suitable for duet contests. Originally written for flugel and euphonium, this is an unaccompanied duet for two Bb instruments (or any same key).
